Etta Rain Ceramics
Named after her beloved grandmother, Etta Rain Ceramics is the work of Rachel Movitz, a maker drawn to the calming, tactile process of working with clay. She creates simple, functional wheel-thrown pieces - tea bowls, mugs, vases, and more - each one uniquely shaped by hand and finished in either wood-fired or electric kilns.
Originally trained as a photographer with an MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York, Rachel spent years in darkrooms before returning to hands-on craft. Today, she finds the same joy in clay that she once found in film - slow, thoughtful, and full of creative possibility.
